Management of patient deterioration: national staff survey
The Health Quality and Safety Commission has a multi-year programme to support the management of patient deterioration in New Zealand’s hospitals. Point provided the cognitive testing of the survey tool and delivered the staff survey for the patient deterioration programme in 2017 and re-ran the survey in 2019.
The survey identifies where there are issues of knowledge, culture or communication impacting on current processes for escalating care. The survey audience includes all doctors, midwives and nurses working on adult in-patient wards.
